Us hybrids know the stories of the headless and homeless; 
the stories of awkward growth, of cobbled-together histories, 
of quilts, immigrants, and students of U.S. culture, of 
outlaws and fugitives, of impeded futures, of inadequate 
burials.  I am telling these and waiting, watching to see 
what the insects will do when left to hover with the amputees.
