I am interested in movement. The initial conditions of a movement's origin are slightly changing which create sequences that diverge from one another. Over a period of time, what actually occurs is different from what could have been. I believe there is stillness, but that it could never be captured in a physical state. The closest form of stillness is the point where there is only one variable and it moves something. To unfold this relationship, I open a movement by creating an environment where I can separate the conditions that are shaping it. Focusing on one condition enables a direct relationship between the condition and the movement it creates. By removing our control and orientation and absorbing ourselves in a natural movement, we come to a more truthful and less secure experience of the world and ourselves; we retire thought and become free to feel a sequence decline and rise upon itself. |
