I am never more at peace than when I am sketching or painting. I chose the watercolor
medium because of its spontaneity and accidental effects. I love the bright colors and
enjoy working with a very wet technique.

I have been drawing and painting for my whole adult life and feel that my career as a
healthcare provider for children has given me a sensitivity to the world, people, and
animals. I have been privileged to work with some great artists. My mentor for many
years was the Denver born artist and teacher Harold Wolfinbarger whom I painted with
throughout all the events of my life until his death in 1990. I also have been involved
with Catinka’s studio in Rockland Maine for a number of years.

I enjoy painting the human form and love to enhance the piece with brightly colored
garments. I paint people from the side or back so the viewer can see the figure in the
painting as themselves, a friend, their mother or brother.

I enjoy traveling and take that opportunity to observe and paint on location whenever
possible. Some of my favorite locales are the Virgin Islands, the coast of North
Carolina and of course the beautiful midcoast of Maine.

I paint for the enjoyment it brings to my life and I love for one of my works to bring
a smile to the viewers face. I truly hope you enjoy my work.
