These recent paintings contain images relating to landscape, figure,
cosmological theory, science fiction, and art historical references. 
The stylistic range of my paintings include representational and 
abstract compositional elements. The specific integrity of the 
individual pictures unifies a diverse body of work. 

I devote myself to crafting substantive paintings of an idiosyncratic
nature. Sustaining the vision of a painting is a fluid process that
requires continuous reevaluation and improvisation. Reworking a 
paintings surface numerous times, modeling builds up the outlined 
shapes and forms, these painted over elements become integral to the 
evolution of a finished image. 

Semi transparent textures in the layering of paint are seen as
atmospheric, ethereal effects, the result of a unique glazing medium. 
Color saturates the picture plane, defining spatial volume and weight,
while lending a sense of painterly depth. 
 
The subtly of these configurations are perceived gradually, an 
extended gaze bringing sub-visual passages into view, while a vigorous, 
overall physical presence springs from this work, creating vital, 
enduring paintings.

An innate energy has permeated my experience as an artist. Not only
visual, painting resonates for me as a kind of breath of life. I find 
in painting a sense of purpose, desire, and accomplishment.
