As an artist I have always been bothered and intrigued by my 
feelings of displacement. I have always felt that no matter 
how hard I try and how much I enjoy myself there is an air 
of “freakishness” that follows me. Consequently most of my 
work has focused on much of what I know- feeling out of 
place….and trying to fit in. 

“SUPERSTAR” is about this evolving feeling. Its about this 
displacement that I have that many other people may be in 
touch with. Mainly, it is about being a “GEEK” and thinking 
you are cool. It is about looking the part…playing the part… 
but still NOT being a part. It is about the evolution of 
someone from “freakish geek” to “SUPERSTAR” status.

My concerns are about people and how they fit in….how they 
grow….how they evolve. The “SUPERSTAR” is who you think you 
are at the time you feel “cool” but when you look back and 
see how much you have changed you still notice that you 
never were quite there.
