Through themes like sex and play, I aim to create works which are self-referential and conceptually self-contained, but not completely self-defined. I want some flirtation to happen as the work suggests fertile grounds for your hallucinations in exchange for your hand along the road to completion. Rather than giving the audience a frozen meaning to digest, I want them to be able to participate, to wonder, and to act upon and within the works. The main objective is to yield content that is fertile enough to spark discussion between people who might otherwise feel they had no common ground. I am pushing for an exchange between the audience and the work, which will give them both something at stake with regard to the other. |
