Parallel Space 01: Vectorial Soundscape This project is an example of Parallel Space, an experience that difers from our traditional understanding: this location juxtaposes our physical perceptions with the information interactions occurring in it. These designs are so integrated to the experience of place that they add new dimensions to our notion of situation. This installation is an on-going project intended to be built eventually at large scale spaces (club, museum, train station, etc.) The project uses a series of glow-in-the-dark rubber tubes attached to motors that are being controlled by a computer. Sounds captured by ambient microphones trigger their movements through computations of the waves' characteristics. |
