My work as an artist involves the investigation and issues of scale in art and science. I am interested in what constitutes and composes the big,
the small and the relativity of size. I compare value and belief systems, priorities, greatness and insignificance, by researching the human
archetypes and universals. My research deals with the relationships between the social popular culture and the personal perception of the
individual imagination and the consensus reality. I believe in the relationships between Comprehensivism and Interdisciplinary, which is a self-study analysis of complexity and specialization and its contrasts to simplicity and a sense of the whole. This is an investigation of context systems and their content. This big picture (the macrocosm) and the small details (the microcosm) tend to illustrate the human being as a speck of dust with a consciousness of itself -- with the ability to contemplate the vastness. My art uses a variety of media and styles to illustrate these concepts. I use writing, photography, drawing, painting, collage, sculpture and assemblage as vehicles for my ideas. My concepts are involved with miniaturization, scale models, toys, games and play. I am interested in utopian theory, creativity, education and communication. |
